Coastal Aviation flies light aircraft into Arusha's small airfield (ARK), which sits right on the edge of town - a 45-minute transfer advantage over Kilimanjaro International when your safari operator is waiting to brief you. The Cessna caravans fly low over the Maasai steppe and Mount Meru fills the windscreen on approach. It is the flight of choice for travellers continuing straight to Tarangire or Manyara the same morning.

ARK airfield is close to Arusha town centre, unlike JRO which is 45 minutes away. Weight and balance matter on light aircraft: passengers may be asked their body weight at booking and bags are weighed with a scale. Flights consolidate, so expect a stop en route on some days.
